Oscar Calvo Moldes
Cybersecurity leader, CTO, CISO & vCISO, focused on secure AI adoption
Oscar Calvo Moldes is a cybersecurity leader with over 25 years of hands-on experience — CTO, CISO and vCISO — currently focused on helping companies adopt AI securely. He is Co-founder & CTO of Axyom and Founder of MicroHackers, and teaches cybersecurity to executive audiences as a visiting lecturer at IME Business School (University of Salamanca). In the security community he has historically been known by the alias NecronoiD.
A 25-year journey through cybersecurity
Oscar began his professional career in technology in 2000 and joined S21sec in early 2001, during the first years of professional ethical hacking in Spain. He then spent several years securing critical public infrastructure and managing enterprise Unix and network environments for some of Spain’s largest organizations.
At Sun Microsystems (2006–2009) he worked as Strategic Support Engineer for Spain’s largest data centers, handling enterprise server, storage and Solaris environments for top-tier clients.
He returned to S21sec (2009–2011) — now part of Thales — as Senior Project Manager and Security Analyst, leading technical security audits of web applications, e-commerce platforms and customer infrastructures. In 2011 he became CISO at Globe Testing, building the company’s security department and strategy from scratch around ISO 27000.
Between 2012 and 2016, as Senior Security Project Manager at Innotec Security (now Accenture), he led enterprise security initiatives involving advanced threat detection, SOC development, vulnerability management and ethical hacking.
At Akamai Technologies (2016–2021) he was Senior Technical Security Project Manager for EMEA, leading enterprise deployments of WAF, DDoS mitigation, API security and Zero Trust architectures, managing a distributed team of solution architects across Poland, Costa Rica and Bangalore, and serving as EMEA lead for the CVE Monitor vulnerability intelligence initiative.
In 2021 he founded MicroHackers, and in 2025 co-founded Axyom.
What he does today
Axyom — As Co-founder & CTO, Oscar leads the technical vision of a platform combining cyber-risk intelligence, cybersecurity services and cyber insurance for SMEs: he designed the proprietary risk-scoring engine that analyzes external attack surface, digital exposure and compliance posture, and defined the platform’s full technical architecture.
MicroHackers — As Founder, he leads a boutique cybersecurity consultancy serving organizations across Spain and LATAM through vCISO advisory, cybersecurity strategy, AI/LLM security assessments, penetration testing and red teaming.
Current focus: secure AI adoption
Oscar’s current focus is helping companies adopt AI securely: assessing model vulnerabilities, prompt injection risks, agent permissions and data leakage in real-world AI and LLM deployments, and building the governance that lets businesses use AI with confidence. More than two decades across security engineering, ethical hacking, risk management and technical leadership inform a pragmatic, attacker-minded approach.

NecronoiD
Before the corporate titles, there was the alias. NecronoiD is the handle Oscar has used in the security community since his early days — a reminder that behind the vCISO and CTO roles there are more than two decades of hands-on hacking. During the 1990s, under the NecronoiD alias, he participated in Spain’s early hacker scene and was associated with communities including Hispahack and La Vieja Guardia.
